Clinical Pathology

Clinical pathology is a medical specialty that is concerned with the diagnosis of disease based on the laboratory analysis of bodily fluids, such as urine, blood, and tissue homogenates or extracts under a microscope, or other diagnostic tools. It's used to assess levels of certain chemicals or other substances in the body, & a diagnosis or decision to do further study is then made based on the test results. It's an integral part of the preclinical safety assessment of any illness. If you’re sick, many of the decisions about your care will be based on the results of your blood and pathology tests.
